2017 Manitoba Provincial Indoor Target Championships – Register Soon!

The 2017 Indoor Provincial Target Championships will be held on Saturday February 25, 2017 at West Kildonan Collegiate in Winnipeg.

We encourage archers of all ages and abilities to come out and participate! The event will be held in two parts, the youth categories(Ages 14 & Under) will be held in the morning, with the senior categories (15 & up) shooting in the afternoon.

Times: 
Youth Championship:
Pee Wee – Cub (14 & Under)
Practice – 9:00 AM
Scoring – 10:00 AM

Senior Championship
Cadet – Master (15 & Up)
Practice – 12:30 PM
Scoring – 1:30 PM

Shoot Fees: 
•          $30.00 for Senior, and Master Age class
•          $25.00 for Junior, and Cadet Age class
•          $20.00 for Cub and Pre Cub Age class
•        $5.00 Pee Wee

Must be an ABAM Member to participate

Introduction to performance archery & competition

The Archers & Bowhunters Association of Manitoba will be hosting four advance development clinics with a focus on introduction to performance archery & competition format. The clinics are looking to attract archers that have taken lessons and are eager to take the next step toward more frequent practice and competition.

The clinics are planned with the intent to have participants enrolled in all four dates, though it is open for participants to enroll in any of the four clinics. 

Some of the clinic content will include competition format & advanced equipment knowledge and mock tournament play. The course will be coached by advanced level coaches with knowledge and background in both Compound & Recurve Archery.

Indoor 3D Shoot – 17 Wing Archery Club

17 Wing Archery Club is hosting its annual indoor 3D shoot on Sunday January 29, 2017

Pre-registration is mandatory.

Registration Info Pre-registration is required to ensure base access for participants and spectators.

Pre-registration deadline will be Tuesday 24 Jan

Individual Shoot Rates

$30.00 for Senior, and Master age class

$25.00 for Junior, and Cadet Age class

$20.00 for Cub and Pre-cub age class

Free for Peewee age class

A $5.00 discount of event fees, at any ABAM sanctioned event, must be offered to all participants who are current members of the ABAM in good standing.

 

Family Shoot Rates (New*)

Large Family Rate

$60 –     Up to 5 members of a family may participate.

This rate is at an ABAM discounted fee. If any participants are not ABAM members there will be an additional $5 fee per nonmember. The family rate allows for a maximum of 2 senior or master shooters per group.

Small Family Rate

$40 –      Up to 3 members of a family may participate.

This rate is at an ABAM discounted fee. If any participants are not ABAM members there will be an additional $5 fee per nonmember. The family rate allows for a maximum of 1 senior or master shooters per group.’

3D Archery Survey

The recently reestablished 3D Committee has been meeting to discuss how ABAM & Archery Clubs can enhance outdoor 3D Events in the Province. The committee has created a very simple 10 question survey for anyone in the Archery Community to complete if they would like to offer feedback or Ideas. In order to help make events better in the future and entice new participation, we ask that you complete the survey and share it with friends.

2016 ABAM Award Nominations

The ABAM Annual Awards lunch will take place on Saturday December 10, 2016 at the Sport for Life Center located at 145 Pacific Avenue in Winnipeg. The awards will be presented at 11 AM followed by a lunch. 

We are now calling for nominations of award recipients, we will be accepting nominations until Friday November 4, 2016. If you know a deserving Coach, Athlete or Volunteer please download the nomination form and submit to the ABAM Office. The awards are as follows:

  1. Coach of the Year Award

Awarded to the Coach who has contributed the most to developing archery in the province of Manitoba during the previous year.

  1. Volunteer of the Year Award

Awarded to the volunteer who has contributed the most to developing archery with in the province of Manitoba during the previous year.

  1. Rising Star Award

In recognition of the Manitoba Youth Archer (Cadet & under) with the most outstanding achievement(s) in provincial, national or international archery in the past year.

  1. Target Archer of the Year Award

In recognition of the Manitoba Archer with the most outstanding achievement(s) in provincial, national or international Target Archery in the past year.

  1. 3D Archer of the Year Award

In recognition of the Manitoba Archer with the most outstanding achievement(s) in provincial, national or international 3D Archery in the past year.

Bowhunter of the Year Awards:

For Bowhunter of the year award, senior male and female (age 18 and over as of January 1st), a minimum of two species must be taken.
• For Bowhunter of the year award, junior male and female (ages 12 to 17 as of January 1st), only one species is needed.
• Each animal entered must be accompanied with the hunter’s tag number and tags are not transferable.
