Matchplay rounds are head-to-head (two archers per group)\, shooting 5 ends of 3 arrows for a total score cumulative score of 150 (compound) or first to 6 matchplay points (recurve). These matchplay rounds are for fun\, development\, and practice for more significant events such as provincials or national events. Due to the size and variety of our local events\, matchplay at the club level is integrated\, meaning ages and genders are often combined. The integrated format does include a distance and target face handicap\, meaning archers shoot the distance and target of their age category regardless of their opponents. The club will have judges and leaders on hand to help assist anyone interested in shooting matchplay to learn the format to ensure they have fun and feel comfortable during the event.
