SUMMARY:Training Course: Instructor of Intermediate Archers
DESCRIPTION:Instructor of Intermediate Archers \nThis level of coach/instructor helps participants refine basic skills and introduces a variety of more complex techniques to individuals who already have some experience in the sport and who exhibit a fair degree of proficiency in the activity. They provide more “customized” instruction based on each archer’s individual performance characteristics and would be expected to manage larger groups. An instructor working with intermediate archers is expected to be moderately knowledgeable in all matters related to the selection and adjustment of equipment. \nWho should take this course? \nThis course is intended for coaches at the club level who have a group of archers who have been shooting for some time and are looking to advance or improve their technique. These archers might be participating in domestic competitions. \nExample: Club-based coaches \nWhat does the course look like? \nThe Instructor of Intermediate Archers course is also a one-weekend course\, typically 15 hours long. At this level\, the learning facilitator introduces more technical coaching skills. Following the weekend\, the coach completes training and a workshop evaluation consisting of Case Studies and presentations and is granted “Trained” status. \nTo become certified\, the coach must submit a portfolio of your workbook and complete an on-site evaluation with your learning facilitator. This evaluation will be a practice session with your archers\, during which you will observe the coach’s skills and intervention tactics with an intermediate-level athlete. It can be done in person or via video (to be discussed and planned with your learning facilitator). \nPlease note there is a $50 rebate for candidates who complete their evaluation. This course is available for youth (16 & up) and adults interested in becoming a coach. \nTo Register for the course\, please visit: https://2mev.com/#!/events/instructor-of-intermediate-archer-coaching-training-course-march-8-9-2025 \nFor any inquiries about the course\, please get in touch with Ryan Van Berkel at info@archerymanitoba.ca or call 204 925 5697 \n

SUMMARY:Canadian ASA Indoor Championships
DESCRIPTION:Archery Canada is excited to announce that the Canadian ASA Indoor Championships will be held in Brandon\, Manitoba from March 21 to 23\, 2025. This is the first National ASA event and is part of an effort to grow the ASA rule set in Canada. The organization is looking forward to hosting archers from across the country. This event will replace the Indoor 3D Championships for 2025 and will feature all Known Categories from ages six and up (the Open class will not be offered for championships indoors). \nExciting new features and bonuses await participants at the upcoming ASA Indoor Championships! The competition will consist of a qualification over three rounds of 20 on Delta McKenzie 3D targets\, with a Shootdown in specific categories to determine the winner. Fun bonuses include pay-to-play novelty shots\, up to $9\,000 in cash prizes\, and vendor booths showcasing cutting-edge archery gear. \nArchery Canada proudly serves as the official representative of ASA in Canada. This ruleset\, which originates in the USA\, is a competition format for 3D Archery. The sport challenges archers to shoot at 3D foam animal targets set at different distances and angles\, requiring competitors to estimate distances themselves. As a pioneer in incorporating known-distance 3D shooting\, ASA provides an accessible entry point for newcomers while offering seasoned competitors a test of skill and precision. \nRegistration is open now and closes on March 12\, 2025 – do not miss your opportunity to be a part of this historic event in Canada\, where a new archery discipline will emerge. \n\n\nArchery Canada is excited to announce that we will host the first-ever 2025 Canadian Indoor ASA Championships!  The event in Brandon\, MB\, from March 21 to 23\, 2025\, will replace the Indoor 3D Championships.\n\nIt will feature lots of exciting archery and additional bonuses:\nThree rounds of competition with Delta McKenzie 3D targets\n\nPay-to-play novelty shots\nUp to $9\,000 in cash prizes\n Vendor booths with high-quality and high-tech archery gear\n Competition classes for all ages and skill levels\n\n\nFor ages six and up\, using Archery Canada ASA Rules  \nhttps://archerycanada.ca/asa-3-d-archery-tournaments/ \nHow to Register\n\nRegistration for the 2025 Canadian ASA Indoor Championships is available through the national registration system at: \nhttps://2mev.com/#!/events/8899-canadian-indoor-asa-championships \nNote: You must be an Archery Canada member through your local Provincial organization to register for this event. \n\nRule Modifications for Indoor ASA\n\nClasses and Distances \n\nSuper Senior and Youn Adults will shoot up to 50 yards instead of 40 yards indoors\nYoung Adult Barebow/Traditional (15-17) 30 yards (error in the published rules).\nOpen classes will not be offered for championships indoors\n\nMandatory Speed Check Before Shoot-Offs: \n\nAll archers advancing to a shoot-off will undergo a mandatory speed check.\nA range official will randomly select an arrow from the archer’s quiver for testing. Archers must have all arrows with them at the time of inspection.\nIf an archer’s equipment is found to exceed the speed cap\, they will be disqualified from the shoot-off\, and the next eligible shooter will advance in their place.\nArchers cannot “tune down” their bows at this stage to meet speed requirements.\n\nAdditional Speed Checks During Competition: \n\nSpeed may also be tested after any qualification round if a range official suspects a violation or if a formal complaint has been made\, as per the rules.\n\nThis rule ensures fair competition for all participants\, so please check your equipment in advance to meet all regulations.
