SUMMARY:Coach Training Course: Instructor of Intermediate Archers (Level 2)
DESCRIPTION:This level of coach/instructor helps participants refine basic skills and introduces a variety of more complex techniques to individuals who already have some experience in the sport and who already exhibit a fair degree of proficiency in the activity. They provide more “customized” instruction based on the individual performance characteristics of each archer and would be expected to manage larger groups. An instructor working with intermediate archers is expected to be moderately knowledgeable in all matters related to the selection and adjustment of equipment. \nCertified coach training ensures that instruction in our sport is delivered correctly and professionally. In addition to learning archery-specific techniques\, the  National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Course includes athlete and program management skills that can be an asset in your personal and professional life. \nArchery Manitoba Coaching Coordinator\, Ron Cooney will be hosting a National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Instructor of Intermediate Archer Course (Level 2) on Sunday\, April 23 & 30\, 2023 (enrollment includes both days). The course will run from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM on both days at a cost of $100 per participant. Candidates that complete the post-course workbook and become certified are eligible for a $50 rebate. \n“Instructor of Intermediate Archers”: \nThe Instructor of Intermediate Archers course is typically 15 hours in length. The Learning Facilitator will begin to introduce more technical coaching skills at this level. Following the in-class sessions the coach will complete training and a workshop evaluation\, consisting of Case Studies and presentations\, and be granted “Trained” status. \nTo become certified\, the coach will need to submit a portfolio\, consisting of your workbook\, as well as complete an On-Site Evaluation with your learning facilitator. This evaluation will be of a practice session with your archers\, and observe the coach’s skills and intervention tactics with an intermediate-level athlete. This can either be done in person\, or through video (to be discussed and planned with your learning facilitator). \nPlease note\, there is a $50 rebate for candidates that complete their evaluation. SUMMARY:Selkirk Archers 720 Target Round
DESCRIPTION:Location: Selkirk Archers Range\, East Selkirk\, Manitoba  \nShoot fee: $25 for all participants  \nTime: Practice starts at 11:00 AM\, Scoring at 12:00 PM \nRegistration: https://2mev.com/#!/events/selkirk-archers-720-round-april-29-2023 \nHow To Shoot a 720 Round  \nThe 720 Round\, also known as an Olympic Round\, is a long-distance target archery competition standard for the Olympic Games. It consists of seventy-two total arrows\, each worth a maximum of ten points shot at a distance of 70 meters (approx 77 yards) for recurve archers and 50 meters for archers using compound bows. The maximum score is 10×72=720 points\, which is where the name of the round is derived. \nFormat\nThe 720 Round is a Target Round (i.e. not a Field Archery Round) meaning an archer shoots at only one target for the entire round and shoots from level ground. Multiple archers will shoot at the same 122cm target (Recurve) or 80cm target (Compound) during a 720 Round. \nA 720 Round consists of 12 ends of 6 arrows for 72 arrows at a standard 122cm 10-ring target: (12 ends x 6 arrows = 72 arrows). The distance and target size depend on the bow style. Archers shoot at a 122cm target @ 70 meters (Recurve) or 80cm target @ 50 meters (Compound) during a 720 Round. A perfect score of 72 arrows all hitting the 10 rings would be 720 points. \nThere is a 4-minute time limit for each end — plenty of time to shoot slowly with proper control. There’s no need to rush.
