2026 Manitoba Indoor 3D Championships Hit the Mark in Portage La Prairie

PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE, MB — This past weekend, April 18 & 19, 2026, the local archery community gathered to celebrate skill, sportsmanship, and the continued growth of the sport at the 2026 Manitoba Indoor 3D Championships.

For the second consecutive year, the event was hosted at the Portage Curling Club and Canad Inns Portage La Prairie. This central and accommodating venue set the perfect stage for two thrilling days of archery action. The weekend’s schedule was packed, featuring a Team Round, an Open Round, as well as the highly anticipated youth and senior provincial championships.

Turnout was spectacular, with nearly 200 archers participating in various events throughout the weekend. The Provincial Championships alone saw a highly competitive field of just over 115 archers vying for provincial titles. Congratulations to all the archers on their incredible performances—from the fierce provincially competitive shooters to the many archers who stepped up to the shooting line to compete for the very first time!

A major highlight of the 2026 championships was witnessing the undeniable growth of 3D Archery. The relatively new ASA format has breathed fresh energy into the sport, attracting a vibrant new generation of both youth and adult archers to provincial competitions.

Reflecting on the weekend’s success and the sport’s upward trajectory, Archery Manitoba Volunteer Vice President Sean Murray shared his enthusiasm:

“This kind of growth doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built on the dedication of volunteers who do whatever it takes to make these events happen and we have a great group of people! We’re heading toward a future where the possibilities are endless and I love playing a small role in it.”

An event of this magnitude relies heavily on the hard work of those behind the scenes. Archery Manitoba would like to extend a massive thank you to our key volunteers who made this weekend a resounding success. Led by VP of 3D Archery Sean Murray, we share our deepest gratitude with Allan Gunter, Rich Vogt, Matt Strate, David Barron, Kyle Oliver, Robert Tataryn, and Shane and Cynthia Vivier. Your tireless dedication is the backbone of our archery community.

Finally, we want to thank all the archers, families, and parents who made the trip to compete, support, and have fun this year. Your passion is what makes these events so special. Thank you for an incredible 2026 season—we are already looking forward to hosting you all again in 2027!
