Micheal Oneschuk Certified World Archery Continental Judge

(shown above: Michael Oneschuk on the right working with Provincial Judge Candidate Chad Sanders)

Archery Manitoba would like to congratulate Winnipeg’s Micheal Oneschuk on his recent certification of World Archery Continental Judge. Mike’s hard work and dedication to Archery Manitoba and Archery Canada officiating over the past 5 years has been remarkable. Mike, Archery Manitoba’s Vice President Coaches & Officials has worked numerous national and provincial events, while training future Manitoba Provincial Judges during his time officiating. Since Mike began volunteering for our organization, he has acted as the 2018 Manitoba Winter Games Technical Delegate, judged at Archery Canada’s Canada Cup, Target and 3D National Championships and the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alberta last winter.

Archery Manitoba would like thank Mike for his ongoing dedication to the sport and we wish him success as he enters the next stage of archery officiating. Our organization would also like to thank Archery Canada, Sport Manitoba and the Interlake Archers for their direct support in Mike attending the course in Orlando, Florida earlier this month.

World Archery Americas posted the following announcement on their web page:

America has eight new continental judges

Nov 18/2019

World Archery Americas developed its third training course for continental judges, from November 8 to 10, in Orlando, Florida, with 16 participants from the United States and Canada.

Taught in English by experienced international judges Sergio Font and Robert Pian, the three-day course included theoretical sessions in a classroom and practice at a local archery club.

Only judges with previous national experience could take the accreditation exam.

At the end of the course, Tracey Francis, Kristy Wapniarski, Sandra Reynolds, Jennifer Laux and Wendy Whalen of the United States, and Michael Oneschuk, Eric Fok and Mark Cote of Canada were accredited as continental judges.

The seminar in Orlando was the last of three organized by World Archery Americas in 2019 after Santiago de Chile in March and Medellin in May.
