Come try one of Archery Manitoba’s premier partner-led instructional programs, a collaboration with Heartland Archery, Heights Archery Academy, and the Selkirk Archers Club. Our courses adhere to the foundational curriculum based on Archery Canada and Archery Manitoba athlete development, ensuring a top-tier learning experience. Each session is expertly guided by instructors trained and certified through the National Coach Certification Program. From September to May, participants engage in weekly sessions lasting four to ten weeks, tailored to location. Progression is mapped through a comprehensive set of levels, empowering beginners to advance their skills. Registration covers all essential equipment, guaranteeing a seamless learning journey. ‘On Target’ Mobile Archery Program – Introduction To Archery Sessions

Introduce your students and camp participants to the sport of Archery!

Archery Manitoba in partnership with Archery Canada and Sport Manitoba is offering clinics at schools, camps, and recreation centers throughout the year.

Our program is mobile, we come to your school with an instructor and all essential archery equipment.

Archery Manitoba’s introduction to archery school clinics are conducted by an NCCP certified instructor and safety is top priority

Program Details

  • We provide equipment that allows for up to 26 participants to shoot at a time.
  • Our structured classes range from 75 to 90 minutes
  • The participants shoot a 36” x 36” target at a distance between 8 and 15 meters.
  • Our program uses the recurve bow, which the current Olympic standard bow.

PROGRAM UPDATE: Fall 2023/Winter 2024 Session Registration Coming Soon!

Archery Manitoba is proud to announce the relaunch of its MYGOLD Program (Manitoba Youth Games & Olympic Long-term Development) geared toward recurve and compound target archers of the intermediate to advanced levels. The program will provide the tools and coaching to take archers from the advanced lessons and the ‘introduction to the competition stage to the level necessary to meet the criteria for Manitoba Games, Canada Games, and our Provincial Team Programs. The coaches leading the program will be Dale Bakker (Recurve), Cleo Wermann-Thorn (Recurve), Kelly Taylor (Compound), and guest coaches. All three lead coaches have extensive experience in provincial high-performance development as coaches or athletes training under provincial and national program coaches for several years.

Overview: The program mandate is to provide a platform to re-implement material and coaching based on the Archery Canada/ Archery Manitoba High Performance ‘Top Camps’ hosted in 2019 and 2020 by National Coaches Shawn Riggs and Duncan Crawford.

Goal: The goal of this program is to provide coaching to developing youth recurve and compound archers via structured and professional programming. The objectives specific to this session are outdoor competition development, meeting Team Manitoba Criteria, and preparing for Outdoor Provincials.

Focus:  Ensure participants have the tools to compete in indoor and outdoor events at increasingly higher levels, with the goal of multi-sport games participation (Manitoba Games, Canada Games, Provincial Team)

Program details:

  • Location: Archery Manitoba Sanford Range (map link below). The program will be hosted outdoors. In the event of poor weather, an indoor venue will be designated or a session will be rescheduled. https://goo.gl/maps/EHEjzvrtprJYHzuS6
  • Length: Two (2) Hours per session
  • Day of the week: Monday Evenings
  • Time: 6:30 – 8:30 PM
  • Max Class Size: 15 athletes per group (Compound & Recurve)
  • Cost: $250 per six-session block.

Sport Manitoba’s Respect in Sport Program

Sport Manitoba’s Respect in Sport program, an online training course that is being implemented for all coaches, officials and executive committee members part of our organization. Sport Manitoba has initiated this program to create a better sport environment for children through education. Since its inception, the program has grown to be nationally recognized and implemented.

About the course:ris_logo

The course is three hours in length, divided into six one-half hour modules. It can be completed at the participant’s leisure, in its entirety or in segments at their own pace. The program is available in both English and French. The training is provided free of charge to all participants. 

*All coaches, officials and executive committee members in our organization must complete the Respect in Sport Course.
